What is a Temple Lift?
A temporal Lift is a lift that aims at correcting defects of the skin due to aging in the area around the temple, the eyebrow and the upper eyelid.
What does a temple lift do?
A temple lift has an effect on the whole temple area. It elevates the tail of the eyebrow, tightens the upper eyelid and softens crow’s feet wrinkles.
It gives the eyes a more open and youthful appearance and a more harmonious shape to the eyebrows.
What’s the aim of a Temple Lift?
The goal of the procedure is to smooth out crow’s feet wrinkles, to elevate the outer eyebrows and to tighten the upper eyelids to open the eyes.
BEFORE A TEMPORAL LIFT:
TEMPORAL LIFT: THE SURGERY
The final result is visible after 3 months but the physical improvement is obvious as soon as the first dressing is removed. Over time, it may be necessary to maintain the result of the temporal lift with esthetic medicine treatments (peelings, Botox or Hyaluronic acid injections, laser, …).
AFTER TEMPLE LIFT SURGERY:
Where are the scars after a temporal lift?
There may be 2 types of scars depending on the clinical examination:
The scars are either hidden within the hair or along the hairline.
The surgery may also be performed under endoscopy with reduced incisions.
What other procedures may be combined with a Temporal Lift?
A temple lift is commonly combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to create a rejuvenated and bright look.
It is also often associated with other esthetic face procedures such as face and neck lift, face lipofilling, or with esthetic medicine treatments (Botox, Hyaluronic acid injections, peelings, …)
What are the alternatives to a Temporal Lift?
Even if the results are not as efficient as surgery, esthetic medicine with fillers (Hyaluronic acid) and Botox injections as well as lipofilling, may help maintain a youthful appearance to the temple area.
Can excess skin cause the eyebrows to droop again?
Over time, the skin loosens and the eyebrows may become heavy and droop again. That’s why it is advised to maintain the result with esthetic medicine treatments.
